Creating an award paper in Illustrator

Create a rectangle of 10 inches by 8 using the Rectangle tool. Open the Brushes library and choose Borders_Decorative.

Choose a new symbols library from Symbols. Make Corner Elements as 4.

Using the Reflect tool's Copy button, copy to all four corners.

Start to add text. Type a title in a fairly thick font.

Change the colour of the title to offset colour in the frame.

Using Warp Options and Arc bend the title into a curve.

Use an Inner Glow set to the Centre with Opacity of 45% for the text.

Add another word with a colour in the frame by choosing the text and then using the Eyedropper tool and clicking on the colour.

Use the Line Segment tool to make the line. Open Symbols and choose Decorative Elements. Drop the one liked onto the document and then use the Reflect tool to make a copy. Using the Shift and the right facing arrow, move the copied element into place.

Use the Line Segment tool and make another shorter line. Duplicate it. Add more text underneath using the same colour palette.

To align certain areas, select them either in a group and then holding the shift key and select the other parts to be included.

For the signature area do the same but use the Horizontal Align Left button. Now everything is centred correctly and left aligned as well.

Now you can print the award and sign it.
